Better Tomorrow
The Broadway for Arts Education Scholarship Fund
“An arts education betters a child, that child betters tomorrow.”
Through our scholarship fund, Better Tomorrow, BAE offers college and educational scholarships to our students and other future leaders around the world. While our arts education programs already serve hundreds of K-12 students globally, we wondered what more we could do to support them as they pursue their professional dreams - and Better Tomorrow was born.
Our scholarship recipients, known as the Better Tomorrow Scholars, receive both financial support and ongoing professional mentorship from the BAE community. A percentage of all general donations made to BAE will benefit Better Tomorrow. With your help, we hope to send countless students into their better tomorrow.

Joseph L. Dionne Scholarship
This $1,000 college scholarship is offered to an Urban Assembly (NYC) high school senior enrolled in BAE programs who has shown an exceptional commitment to their studies, to leadership within their community, to using their time and talents to create a better tomorrow, and to BAE’s core values of Arts as Advocacy, Living in the Orange, and Better Together.
This scholarship is offered in memory of our founding donor and visionary, Joseph L. Dionne. Joe was a history teacher, guidance counselor, and football and basketball coach. After ten years in the public education system, he moved into the business world, eventually becoming the chairman and CEO of McGraw-Hill. Joseph believed in the transformative power of music and education. He believed when young people come together to sing, to learn, to help others - growth and self-awareness follow. BAE is a product of those beliefs and an organization he held very close to his heart.

Molly Greenwald Rising Star Scholarship
This $500 scholarship is offered to rising stars, ages 7-15, looking to further their music theater education. Funds can be used for a camp, school program, or private lessons – any music theater education that gets you closer to your dream of being a Broadway star! This scholarship has been offered annually since 2014 in loving memory of our friend and inspiration, Molly Greenwald.
One special evening in June 2013, our Broadway friends had the honor of performing with Molly, who bravely fought leukemia. Molly dedicated her time to raising awareness and funds for the research that blood cancer patients so desperately need. Although we lost her in December 2013, Molly’s memory lives on in all that we do, including honoring an outstanding rising star each year with this scholarship.
