2017 Better Tomorrow Scholar, Molly Greenwald Rising Star Scholarship

Better Tomorrow (formerly Broadway Lights the Night) is very proud to announce Abigail Paige Murphy as the 2017 Molly Greenwald Rising Star Scholarship winner! Abby is a NYC-based actress, singer, and dancer. Abby is a member of the Emanon Players Drama Club and was recently cast as “Sarah Brown” in Guys and Dolls. She is in her school's Select Choir, serves as a member of the Forensics Team and the Student Council, and was recently the first recipient of the Dave Evans Scholarship Award for Community Service and Leadership.

 Abby trains with the Julie Zarukin Vocal Studio in voice and acting. She dances at several studios, and has studied tap with Thommie Retter in NYC.  She has trained in advanced acting at the Walnut Street Theater in Philadelphia, the Eagle Theater in New Jersey, Broadway Theater of Pitman in New Jersey, and spent two years with Broadway Artists Alliance in NYC.

 Some of her accomplishments include the US premiere of Dream Street at the Off-Broadway Pearl Theater under the direction of Laura Luc (Kids of the Arts) and Lyrics for Life at Symphony Space in NYC. Abby has also performed at Carnegie Hall in Tim Janis' American Christmas Carol. Abby has appeared at various cabaret venues, including Feinstein's/54 below, The Triad, Don't Tell Mama, the Laurie  Beechman Theater, the Metropolitan Room, and the West End Lounge. Abby can be seen in the upcoming second season of the HBO series, Divorce

 In Abby's spare time, she loves participating in fundraisers and using her talents to make a difference and give back. Abby is so honored and grateful to be the 2017 Broadway Lights the Night scholarship recipient, and is ready to dedicate her passions to the BLTN Family!
