Little Shop of Horrors at University Prep

Throughout the Winter of 2024, Broadway for Arts Education teamed up with University Prep Charter School in the Bronx to bring their production of Little Shop of Horrors to life. Under the guidance of teaching artist Brett Tubbs, young people got to experience a rehearsal process that was fun, engaging, and where everyone was able to succeed. We spoke to assistant principal Sally Schwab about her experience and why they decided to partner up with BAE, here is what she said:

“Here at University Prep we believe in a holistic education. In addition to our academics we believe in arts education. When putting on a school musical it takes lots of different people to make it come together and oftentimes all those people don’t exist in a single school building. We thought that working with Broadway for Arts Education would be a perfect way to get our show off the ground. It’s been an incredible collaboration and we couldn’t be happier to work with you.”
-Sally Schwab (Assistant Principal, University Prep Charter School)
