On January 30, more than 30 students from across NYC came together to perform as the “Earth Choir” for a concert production of Dear Everything, a new musical that follows a group of young people in a small town whose determination to save their local forest endows them with powers they never knew they had. We are, of course partial, but the Earth Choir stole the show. They absolutely held their own on stage next to seasoned Broadway pros (and Jane Fonda!), and we as teachers were so moved by the transformation from day 1 of rehearsal to day 4 (the performance). In total, they learned everything in less than 12 hours, making their accomplishments all the more impressive.

For most all of our students, this was their first experience performing at such a high level, for a crowd of nearly 800! We are so grateful to the Dear Everything producing and creative team for inviting our students to be a part of this epic undertaking.

“[BAE] is changing lives by creating entry points that are beyond necessary. Thank you. It was terrific working with [BAE] again. Please send our deepest gratitude to your team and all the kids.” - Tony Montenieri, Producer

“Thank you for your amazing support and your truly wonderful students who absolutely rocked the house Thursday night. I cannot tell you the amazing feedback we have gotten about their singing and dancing. They were wonderful. Please give them my love and deepest admiration and thank you and all your team for making this happen with so much love.” - V (formerly Eve Ensler), Writer

The icing on the cake was how our students reacted to the experience. Check out what some of they had to say below:
