Student Spotlight: Rakshita🌟

Rakshita's Musical Journey: Passion, Progress, and Aspirations

Embarking on a musical journey is often an exciting mix of challenges, passions, and the promise of rhythm and melody. Rakshita, a 10th-grade student at Shanti Bhavan loves music and fills her free time with learning new songs and instruments.

Rakshita's latest instrument of choice? The drums. She is drawn to the percussive heartbeat that underlies every great song, ready to immerse herself in the art of creating soul-stirring rhythms. For her, the drums represent a gateway to musical expression that's energetic, captivating, and deeply invigorating.

Right now, she hopes to be able to learn : "Believer" and "Whatever It Takes." These selections aren't random choices; instead, they are imbued with an electrifying energy that resonates profoundly with Rakshita's soul. It's the fast-paced tempo and the challenge of mastering these tracks that truly excite her. Music, she has discovered, is most captivating when it's fast and demanding.

Rakshita is actively engaged in numerous lessons. However, one teacher stands out: Ms. Manu. Her lessons are especially awaited because they involve learning chords that can be used to accompany a choir. Another goal? To play "Rise" by Katy Perry, a musical aspiration that fuels her practice sessions.

Balancing physical training with music lessons has been a significant challenge for Rakshita. Late classes and varying energy levels have posed obstacles along the way. But these setbacks haven't dampened her determination to continue her musical pursuit.

Amidst the challenges, Rakshita has developed favorite practice routines and techniques. Choir practice, for instance, infuses her days with positivity and good energy, setting the stage for a productive day in classes. Meanwhile, mastering harmony and chords on the piano has opened the door to impromptu jam sessions with friends—a source of immense joy.

Beyond the pleasure of making music, Rakshita recognizes the cognitive benefits. Music serves as a cognitive workout, enhancing multitasking abilities, sharpening focus, and strengthening memory—attributes that extend well beyond the realm of music. It also has become a refuge, a stress reliever that leaves her with a fresh and revitalized mindset to tackle each day.

In a decade, Rakshita envisions herself as a versatile artist, proficient in both drums and piano, collaborating with bands like Why Don't We or One Republic. Her goal is to seamlessly blend different instruments and genres into a harmonious musical journey. This path is defined by her unwavering passion and dedication, making her dream of becoming a versatile artist a journey worth following as she explores the world of music, one note at a time.
