It’s up to you: New York, NY!

On November 5, New York City “came through” and raised over $230,000 for arts education programs in local public schools at Broadway for Arts Education’s second annual Broadway Spotlight Gala. A crowd of 400+ gathered at the beautiful 48 Wall Street to cheer on 40 young performers belting their hearts for a great cause out alongside Broadway stars from Hamilton, Wicked, Phantom of the Opera, Aladdin, Les Miserables, Six, Waitress, Into The Woods, Beautiful, and more!

None of this would be possible without the beautiful partnership BAE has built with Spotlight Kids, a theater school in Tribeca founded by Tamryn Shami and Danielle Burakovsky. For 8 weeks, BAE cofounders Ben Houghton and Katy Pfaffl prepared the young performers from Spotlight Kids for their big night on the stage with their Broadway Buddy, teaching them about the power of the voices to create music and social change in their communities. The generosity of the friends and families of Spotlight Kids made this year’s gala BAE most successful on record!

But as every New Yorker knows, records are meant to be broken. We can’t wait to see what more we can accomplish at next years event. See you there?
