2014 Better Tomorrow Scholar, Molly Greenwald Rising Star Scholarship

Better Tomorrow (formerly known as Broadway Lights the Night) is very proud to announce Maya Karp as the 2014 Molly Greenwald Rising Star Scholarship winner! Maya is a very happy, smart, creative and busy 9 year old performer who loves singing, dancing and acting!  Her recent stage credits include Les Miserables (Young Cosette/Eponine) at Axelrod Performing Arts Center (APAC), Gypsy (Baby Louise) at Old Library Theater (OLT), Evita (Ensemble) at APAC, Frogs, Monkeys and Bears, Oh My! (Megan/Principal) at OLT, You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown (Lucy) at Music University Theater (MU), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Marcy Park) at MU, and Snoopy! The Musical (Lucy) at MU. In addition, Maya has made many musical appearances in concerts with her glee group and band “Ladies Firs

She has participated as a vocalist in charity events for The Make a Wish Foundation, The Pajama Program, The Monmouth County Children’s Advocacy Center, and REACH Educational Services.  Maya has weekly voice lessons, piano lessons, musical theater lessons, acting lessons, dance lessons, and rehearsals for her band and glee group.  She maintains an A average in school, and she finds time to play with her big brother Ryan, her friends, and her dogs and cats.

Maya was featured in the 2nd Annual Broadway Lights the Night Gala on July 21, 2014 at the Bickford Theatre in Morristown, NJ.
